Waiting on Wednesday: Ignite Me

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine,
which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating!

This week's, and the first, Waiting on Wednesday choice for this blog is:

Ignite Me
by Tahereh Mafi

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, called "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love"

Juliette now knows she may be the only one who can stop the Reestablishment. But to take them down, she'll need the help of the one person she never thought she could trust: Warner. And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew-about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam-was wrong.

In Shatter Me, Tahereh Mafi created a captivating and original story that combined the best of dystopian and paranormal and was praised by Publishers Weekly as "a gripping read from an author who's not afraid to take risks." The sequel, Unravel Me, blew readers away with heart-racing twists and turns, and New York Times bestselling author Kami Garcia said it was "dangerous, sexy, romantic, and intense." Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and climactic end.

Why I'm waiting?

When I first read Shatte Me, I was amazed. As a guy, most of the time, I am not a big fan of romance in YA because that is the focus in the stories. The Shatter Me has a huge part in the romance department, however the story is written so beautifully that I don't care. The romance is completely fine. I care for all the characters. Juliette's voice is strong and engaging. Tahereh Mafi has one of the uniquest writing styles in the YA genre. Her poetic style makes the books so fascinating and I always find myself wowed by different quotes throughout the books. Most importantly, the world the books are set in is so dangerous. Even though the story does not focus too much on the dystopian world, I find myself utterly engaged in the events of the book. I want to know what happens, and I cannot wait.
